Former government minister Ted Nealon has died

Nealon had gone on to author a popular guide to the Dáil and Seanad.

THE FORMER MINISTER of State for Arts Ted Nealon has died.

Nealon worked as a presenter and journalist for RTÉ before running for the Dáil in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency in 1981.

As a Fine Gael candidate, he was returned to the Dáil up until his retirement in 1997.

In government, he served as Minister of State for Agriculture, Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, with responsibility for Arts and Culture, and Minister of State at the Department of Posts and Telegraphs.

After leaving politics, he founded Nealon’s Guide to the Dáil and Seanad.
