VETERAN CRIMINAL MARTIN Foley, known as ‘The Viper’, remains in hospital this evening after being arrested on Monday.
It is understood Foley is in the Mater Hospital, but is still technically in garda custody while he receives care.
Ilac Centre
Foley was arrested over an alleged false imprisonment at a jewellers in the Dublin.
The 64-year-old, and another man in his 30s, were overpowered by security guards at the Ilac Centre in Dublin before they could make their escape.
It’s believed there was an altercation inside the store.
An eye witness described the scene to TheJournal.ie, saying there was a struggle at the door of the shop, before six security guards rushed to the premises.
Foley – who has survived a series of attempts on his life – has a string of convictions for assault, robbery and possession of weapons.
