Almost EVERY Irish radio station played a tribute to Tony Fenton this afternoon
Dozens played Say A Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin at 2.30pm

THE CALL WAS put out, and dozens responded.
Radio stations across Ireland played a tribute to Tony Fenton at exactly 2.30pm, broadcasting one of his favourite tracks – I Say A Little Prayer by Artetha Franklin.
The radio legend died last week after a battle with prostate cancer.
Today, his friend and colleague Ian Dempsey called for Irish radio stations to join in the national tribute:
Dozens have commented online on how they were able to scan through their radio, and each station was playing the track. Both #NodOfRespect and #SayALittlePrayer are now trending in Ireland.

If your local community station – or even a station abroad – played the track, let us know and we can add them to the list.
Among those who didn’t play the track were RTÉ Radio 1 (although a tribute was read out), RTÉ Lyric FM and iRadio. RTÉ Gold also broadcast the song on digital.
Some people took to Twitter to express their anger that 96fm didn’t play the track but its CEO has since explained what happened.
