Gardaí seize €25k worth of counterfeit hats and scarves at Man United match in Dublin

The goods were seized yesterday.

GARDAI AND REVENUE yesterday seized €25,000 worth of counterfeit goods which were being sold outside the Manchester United versus Sampdoria match at the Aviva Stadium yesterday.

In total, officers seized 225 hats, 200 placards, 140 flags and 2,220 scarves, which combined have an estimated street value of €25,000.

Detective Superintendent George Kyne said that “ ongoing cooperation between various elements of law enforcement will continue, the objective being to stop counterfeit and sub-standard products affecting the trade of genuine branded products”.

Gardaí said they will continue to target vendors who are selling fake goods at events.

All of the hats and scarves will be destroyed.
