Large-scale search underway for person missing from a ferry in the Irish Sea
The search is being coordinated by the UK’s HM Coastguard.

A LARGE-SCALE SEARCH is underway for a missing person from a ferry in the Irish Sea.
It is understood the missing passenger was on a ferry travelling from Holyhead in Wales to Dublin.
The Irish Coast Guard was alerted by the UK’s HM Coastguard, which is coordinating the search, at 9.40am.
The Irish Coast Guard is assisting the HM Coastguard in the operation. There is a large Irish and British marine rescue presence spanning the ferry route.
A spokesperson from the Department of Transport said the Irish Coast Guard has tasked Howth and Dún Laoghaire RNLI all-weather lifeboats, along with Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter 116, with responding to the incident.
The search remains ongoing.
