The US President and his Republican rival went head-to-head at the University of Denver last night.

THE FIRST DEBATE in the US presidential election took place at the University of Denver in Colorado last night.

Most observers gave Republican candidate Mitt Romney the victory, as he looks to overcome the incumbent Democrat Barack Obama in the 6 November election..

The debate kicked off at 2am Irish time – but you can watch the whole thing back right here.

  More so thejournal itself, can’t remember ever seeing an article critical
  of Obama (How to eat a hot dog like Obama, Obama hanging with Jay-Z & George Clooney, Dancing on the Elen DeGeneres Show) howeve the only time Romney is covered it’s when he’s perceived to have made a gaffe and the article is always critical, sure they didn’t cover his convention speech in the slightest! They’re in the tank for Obama.

Romney hammered Obama in that debate. Looked presidential. Sounded presidential. He even had a presidential tie.
After all the nastiness about Romney here and on all other liberal media sites, he was charming, commanding and fluent.
President Obama is going to have to up the game or invade Finland or burn Pittsburg or something drastic, because he was roasted last night, proving he is as incompetent at debate with anyone who is not an old codger such as McCain, as he is at leading the cousins across the ocean.

  Obama is wisely keeping all of Romney’s gaffes in the bag until a later date. This is just round 1.
  Still Romney looked impressive. People are also tired of Obama’s pause-clause delivery style.

Romney is the winner here. This first debate was a chance for Obama to go on the attack regarding the 47% statement, Romneys taxes and the jobs he sent overseas with his company’s.
The Republicans have been preparing for this election by making it as hard for Obama to get anything through congress as possible. Romney tonight stated he worked successfully with an 87% democrat representation at state level to have one of the best healthcare and best education system of any state. Considering the election Will be decided by how handful of states vote (the predictably of electoral collage)Obamas performance tonight is worrying.
