VIDEO: What happens when a TD faces the social welfare system?

Independent TD Stephen Donnelly told the Dáil last night:”The system is not working.”

POLITICIANS ARE SOMETIMES accused of being out of touch with the people they represent.

So what happens when one of them comes up against the social welfare system? Stephen Donnelly, independent TD for Wicklow and East Carlow, spoke last night in the Dáil of what happened to him when he fractured his spine and had to venture to a social welfare office (when he was 23, long before he became a TD).
