Woman dies in Sligo house fire

The 34-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 34-YEAR-old woman died in a house fire in Sligo last night.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 9:20, gardaí and fire services were called to a house at White Strand View, Aylesbury Park in Sligo town.

It is believed the fire broke out in the upstairs of the house.

Two other people who were in the house at the time escaped uninjured. A three year old boy and an 18-year-old teenage boy.

The woman’s body was removed to Sligo Regional Hospital for a post mortem examination.

The scene is preserved for a technical examination and the Coroner has been notified.

Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation is now underway and say enquiries are ongoing.
