1. A total of 23 people were arrested last night following a second night of violent disruptions near an Ipas centre in Citywest.

Two gardaí were hospitalised after sustaining injuries during the course of the riots. One was struck on the head by a bottle, while the other sustained an injury to their arm and shoulder.

2. At least €1 million was spent on social media and digital advertising during the last general election campaign, as candidates and parties sought to target new audiences with their political messaging.

3. The number of properties available to rent within the limits of the Housing Assistance Payment scheme has continued to fall this year, with just 24 properties available to rent within any HAP limits last month.

6. US President Donald Trump has slapped major sanctions on Russia’s two largest oil companies, complaining that his talks with Vladimir Putin to end the Ukraine war “don’t go anywhere.”

7. Catherine Connolly appears to be on course to win the presidential election, with a new poll showing the Independent candidate on 44%, well ahead of Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys on 25%.
