THE AGE AT which someone plans to have kids can be dependent on many things, from living scenario and relationship stage to financial situation and career aspirations.
Of course, sometimes it can happen unexpectedly, and sometimes it doesn’t happen at all, be it for health reasons, by choice, or something else.
Here in Ireland, how and when we parent is changing at a rapid pace. The latest data from the Central Statistics Office has found that the average age of a mother in Ireland has increased from 30.8 in 2004 to to 32.5 years old in 2015.
The number of mothers in their forties has also increased significantly. In fact, in 2015, there were 4,000 births to mothers in that age bracket, compared with 2,566 in 2005.
So, tell us – what age were you when you first had kids?
