Several Christmas tree fires have been put out at Killiney Hill over the past week
It’s not known yet whether the fires were started deliberately.
DUBLIN’S FIRE SERVICE have been tackling a series of Christmas tree fires in south Dublin over the past week.
The fires have been taking place on Killiney Hill where a Christmas tree refuse centre, located at a car park, shreds trees to mulch.
Dublin Fire Brigade say it’s not known whether the fires are being deliberately lit or not, as something as simple as a cigarette butt could start a fire easily.
Because Christmas trees are extremely brittle and dried up after being indoors for weeks, it’s advised that people take them out of their homes as soon as possible.
The Killiney Hill Christmas tree recycling centre is open from 3 – 15 January between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
