A SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE that prompted an emergency response in Dublin this morning has been determined to have been a hoax.

Gardaí, army bomb disposal experts and the fire service attended the scene of an incident in Dublin city in which a suspicious letter was delivered to a business, sources said.

The scene near Spencer Dock was sealed off by gardaí and the fire service erected specialist decontamination equipment, while the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was dispatched to the scene to carry out an investigation of the suspicious package.

Gardaí confirmed that the package was “subsequently deemed safe and a hoax”.

It is understood that the incident related to be the offices of A&L Goodbody.
