Cyclist hospitalised after being hit by truck in Dublin 8

Con Colbert Road, where the crash happened, was closed but has since reopened.

A CYCLIST HAS been hospitalised after being hit by a truck in Dublin 8.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the two-vehicle collision, which happened on Con Colbert Road in Kilmainham, shortly after 11am this morning. 

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

The road was closed, and has since reopened.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

They’re appealing for any witnesses of the crash to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Con Colbert Road between 10.15am and 11.15am today are asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
