Four arrests made after gardaí seize €7 million worth of cannabis from Kildare property

As part of ongoing investigations under Operation Tara, gardaí yesterday conducted a series of planned searches in Co Kildare.

FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after gardaí found €7 million worth of cannabis at a single property in Athy.

As part of ongoing investigations under Operation Tara, gardaí yesterday conducted a series of planned searches in Co Kildare.

During one search of a property in Athy, they recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of €7 million.

Four individuals were arrested at the scene. These were three men (two in their 30s and one in his 40s), as well as one woman in her 20s.

All four are currently detained at garda stations in the east.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established at Carlow Garda Station.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
