Man injured in shooting at home in Wexford town

The man was taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A MAN IN his 50s was injured when a firearm was discharged at a home in Wexford town on Saturday night.

The shooting occurred in the Coolcotts area of Wexford town at around 11.30pm, gardaí said.

The man was taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí said an incident room has been established at Wexford Garda Station, with a senior investigating officer appointed to lead the investigation. The scene is currently being preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them.

They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the area from 10.30pm to 11.30pm and may have information on the incident to come forward.
