IF I HAD the money I’d buy…
A two-seat, mid-engine supercar that is built almost exclusively by hand. A car that looks menacing but is actually very easy to drive with some useable (by supercar standards) storage. I’d buy the powerful and mighty Audi R8 V10 plus.
Why an Audi R8 V10 plus?
Well, to date, it is the fastest series-production Audi of all time and it uses almost the same aluminium and carbon fibre chassis as the Lamborghini Huracán.
It has a wicked 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 petrol engine, which makes 620hp and 520Nm of torque and it has Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. All these combine that help propel this supercar from standing to 100km/h in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 3.2 seconds. So, basically, I’d buy this car because it is powerful and fast and looks like a beast.
What’s special about this particular one?
This particular R8 is a brand new 2017 model and comes with a host of option boxes ticked and extras like these gorgeous 20-inch, 10-spoke Y design alloy wheels. It also has the V10 Plus gloss carbon styling pack which adds a number of slick exterior details.
The exquisite interior is made even more sumptuous with the Extended Fine Nappa Leather Package, which includes fine Nappa Leather across much of the cabin. Oh, and you also get the Audi Exclusive controls in black suede.
This car also comes with the Bang and Olufsen Sound system which features 19 loudspeakers including a subwoofer and centre loudspeaker and a 16 channel amplifier with an impressive total output of 755 watts. But to be honest, it is so much nicer having the tunes off and just listening to that engine roar just behind your back!
What does it look like in action?
It looks awesome! Check out pro driver Randy Pobst as he does hot laps in the Audi R8 V10 Plus around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Who else drives one?
Jay Leno has an R8 Spyder in his garage, sure, what doesn’t he have in there? Action men Jason Statham and Daniel Craig drive an R8, Anne Hathaway owns an R8 Spyder and so does Kendall Jenner. But perhaps the coolest and most awesome Audi R8 V10 plus belongs to Tony Stark. And if it is good enough for Iron Man…
It costs €296,325. What else could you get for the money?
For the same money, you could have this eight-bedroom house in Brittany in France.
… or this Cranchi Mediterranee 50 boat, with change left over.
