More than 300 children took part in this year’s Toy Show, which featured surprise appearances from Roy Keane and CMAT.

Last Friday’s Toy Show also marked the first time Audio Description was available live on RTÉ One during the broadcast.

Irish Sign Language (ISL) was also available live on Friday night on the RTÉ News Channel and RTÉ Player.

Host Patrick Kielty said that last Friday’s show was “pure joy from start to finish and I loved every second of it”.

He added that the “real stars were the children, who brought the house down with their talent, their toy demos and their personalities”

He also praised the audience for raising €4.6 million for the Toy Show Appeal.

“It’s just staggering and it will change lives across Ireland,” said Kielty.

“So thank you for making it magical, even if I’ll be scrubbing green paint until next Christmas!”
