Baby thrown from burning house after arson attack in Belfast

A couple and their two children were forced from the house in north Belfast shortly after 4am when a fire broke out.

A 14-MONTH-OLD baby was thrown to safety from a burning house after an arson attack on a family home in Belfast during the night.

A couple and their two children were forced from the house in the Clonbeg Drive area of north Belfast shortly after 4am when the fire broke out in the house and spread to the property next door.

Police and the Northern Ireland Fire and rescue Services attended the scene and said a number of residents were treated for smoke inhalation. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.

The PSNI have said they are treating the fire as malicious.

The PSNI have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Newtownabbey Criminal Investigation Department.
