Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Roisin Kenny’s (@sweet_gaff_) calming bedroom was our inspiration.
“The interior style of my home is quite eccentric, so it was important to create a space of peace and calmness, which I think is particularly vital when designing a bedroom,” says Roisin.
“I had been doing a lot of research into biophilic design and my goal was to incorporate that as much as I can into this room.” For the uninitiated, biophilic design involves using elements of nature to make indoor spaces more calming and pleasing for their occupants (biophilia means ‘love of nature’).
Love Frankie, Helena Springfield and Penneys were Roisin’s main ports of call when decorating this space. Below are six high street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…
1. Printed curtains, €27.99, H&M
Putting up a new set of curtains is a quick and easy way to update a space.
2. Leaf print duvet cover, €47.99, La Redoute
This duvet cover is similar to Roisin’s, and there’s 40% off with the code ’5993′.
3. Jungle mural, €79.51 (£72), Love Frankie
Roisin’s mural is the main focal point of the room, so we had to find the exact match.
4. Pink velour cushion, €21, Next
The pops of pink complement the green in the curtains and the bedspread perfectly.
5. Yellow blanket, €19.99, H&M
Pink not your thing? Try a more subdued golden hue instead.
6. Green velvet lampshade, €37, Oxendales
A green velvet lampshade like this one will tie the entire room together.
