Man arrested after video of him punching toddler son goes viral

The boy is running behind a counter when Whittington chases him and punches him in the face.

A CALIFORNIA MAN who was caught on CCTV punching his toddler son in the face has been arrested.

Justin Whittington, 23, was arrested and charged with child endangerment after the footage appeared online, police in the city of Bakersfield said.

In the footage, which will prove too disturbing for many viewers, Whittington drags the boy by the leg, before lifting him by his collar several feet in the air. The boy runs off to a woman.

In another clip, the boy is running behind a counter when Whittington chases him and punches him in the face. He then lifts the boy up and hands him to the woman.

The New York Daily News quotes store owner Harry Dindral as saying the incident was “the worst thing I’ve ever seen”.

The footage made its way online and then into the hands of police, who arrested him early this morning. He will appear in court on Monday.

The footage is distressing and may upset some people. It can be viewed here.
