Man dead and woman seriously injured following car crash on the N20 in Limerick

A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at around 7.25 am this morning.

A MAN HAS died and a woman is being treated in hospital for injuries that are believed to be serious following a car crash on the N20 at Ballyouragan, Croom, in Co Limerick. 

The collision occurred at approximately 7.25 am this morning and it involved two cars. 

A man, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman who has been hospitalised is in her 30s. 

No other injuries have been reported. 

The road is closed to allow for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators; local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. 

A garda spokesperson said: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7:00am and 7:30am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station,” they added.
