EACH WEEK, WE ask someone based in Ireland with a passion for interiors to share one photo of their favourite spot in their home.
Caroline Beatley lives in Co Cavan with her husband and four children.
“I’m a charity shop thrifter,” says Caroline. “I love day trips to the charity shops and I spend too many hours in my local ones sourcing treasure.”
My motto is don’t be afraid to add colour. Whether it’s paint or an accessory, it can always be changed.
This week, Caroline (@a_home_carrie_made) chatted us through her favourite spot: the corner of her living room.
The couch is where I like to relax, unwind and read my favourite interior magazines with a cuppa. It is where I do my crafts and I also love sitting in this part of the room as I can admire the hard work I put into our room, especially our gallery wall. Most of our walls in here, except for one, are framed with prints and curiosities so I’m so happy with the finished project.
It has to be the tall black and white vase on my sideboard, designed to look like a face. I spent months sourcing one and then I unexpectedly found this in my local TK Maxx.
I got my inspiration for this room from Joanne Mooney, a design fan I follow on Instagram (@aproudhome). She is a very talented, inspiring and creative lady. She’s not afraid of adding colour into the rooms in her home. She has a fabulous house and I had the pleasure of meeting her a few times.
If there was anything I would love to change in this room, it would be my flooring. It’s near its end now, so I would like to lay down a darker floor and in time I will. I’m highly considering changing the greys in this room so I may just go a darker grey, but who knows? My mind is flowing with ideas constantly.
