Chappell Roan leaves talent agency after former agent appears in Epstein files

Emails in the latest drop of the Epstein Files show that Casey Wasserman, who led the agency, was in contact with Ghislaine Maxwell.

SINGER CHAPPELL ROAN has left the talent agency Wasserman, led by Casey Wasserman, after his name appeared in the Epstein files.

In a statement on Instagram, Roan said “no artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values”.

Roan, 27, did not mention deceased paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, however emails in the latest drop of the Epstein Files show Wasserman was in contact with Ghislaine Maxwell, who is  currently serving 20 years in prison for trafficking girls to Epstein.

Wasserman, who is also the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, apologised over the weekend for the flirtatious emails.

Wasserman, 51, said his 2003 email exchanges with Maxwell took place before her crimes were known.

Roan said she holds her teams “to the highest standard” and has a “duty to protect them”.

“I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity.”

She said her decision reflects her belief that “meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust”.

In a statement, Wasserman said: “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light.”

He said he had “never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane,” Wasserman said.

“I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”

The appearance of a name in the Epstein Files does not imply criminal activity.
