THREE PEOPLE HAVE been hospitalised following a chemical spill in Trinity College Dublin.
The incident took place in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI) building on Pearse Street at around 11am.
A statement from Trinity confirmed that three people were taken to St James’s Hospital. There was no immediate information about their condition.
Both Dublin Fire Brigade and An Garda Siochána attended the scene and have since left, the statement said.
“The situation is under control,” it said.
The TBSI building remains “closed for environmental cleaning” and the college has “no further update at this stage”.
The building houses the schools of biochemistry and immunology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and the Trinity centre for biomedical engineering.
