Three people hospitalised following chemical spill in Trinity's biomedical science building

A statement from the college said “the situation is under control”.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been hospitalised following a chemical spill in Trinity College Dublin. 

The incident took place in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI) building on Pearse Street at around 11am.

Both Dublin Fire Brigade and An Garda Siochána attended the scene.

A statement from Trinity confirmed that three people were taken to St James’s Hospital following the spill.

All three have since been discharged from hospital, a Trinity spokesperson said.

They added that the TBSI building is set to reopen this evening.

The building houses the schools of biochemistry and immunology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and the Trinity centre for biomedical engineering.
