The Coast Guard rescued a sheepdog yesterday

In Cork, a fisherman was taken to hospital after being overcome by fumes.

THE COAST GUARD in Achill were able to reunite a sheepdog and their owner yesterday after the dog fell off a ledge.

The sheepdog fell over a ledge at Keem Bay yesterday morning.

The Coast Guard was called and the team was able to rescue the dog and reunite her with her grateful owner.

The same team had earlier attended and assisted at a road accident on the island.

Elsewhere, a crew member was airlifted to a Cork hospital late on Thursday after being overcome with fumes aboard a mussel boat.

Rescue helicopter 115 airlifted the man from Roaringwaterbay to hospital. Baltimore lifeboat also provided medical attention to another crew member.
