Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Chrissy Kearns’ coffee corner (@our_nestinthewest) was our inspiration.
“My inspiration behind this coffee bar was a desperate need to declutter my counters,” says Chrissy. “We don’t have much counter space to begin with and because the coffee maker and kettle are bulky, I felt I needed to create a designated spot for everything coffee and tea related. It houses some adult beverages too…”
I wanted to be able to display both the coffee maker and kettle while keeping everything else like coffee pods, tea bags and mugs out of sight.
JYSK, Home Store + More and TK Maxx were Leah’s main posts of call when decorating this space. Below are six high street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…
1. Shelving unit, €49, Ikea
Chrissy re-purposed her daughter’s old changing table to create the coffee bar. She painted it white and lightly sanded the edges to give a distressed look, but this Ikea unit is a handy option if you’re not looking to DIY.
2. Coffee print, €8.95, Desenio
The wall above a coffee corner is the perfect space to display some themed prints.
3. Artificial plant, €15, Jysk
This plant is an exact match for Chrissy’s – and requires zero looking after.
4. Tiered tray, €16.99, Jysk
We’ve another duplicate here with this tiered tray, which Chrissy uses to display utensils and canisters.
5. Coffee canister, €5.44 (£4.99), The Range
Swap out old tea and coffee containers for an instant update.
6. White kettle, €39.95, Harvey Norman
Black and white appliances make Chrissy’s space look chic and expensive.
