Morgan says the charges would 'discourage' motorists from driving into the city centre Leah Farrell

Should congestion charges be introduced in Dublin city centre?

Gwen Morgan, director of service operations at Dublin Bus, said congestion is significantly affecting average speeds during peak times.

A DUBLIN BUS official has suggested introducing congestion charges in the capital to improve bus services.

Speaking to The Irish Times, director of service operations Gwen Morgan said congestion charges in busier parts of the city could “discourage” car use and prioritise public transport.

Morgan noted that in October, the average peak-morning speed in Dublin city centre was 13.4km/ph, compared with 14km/ph in London.

So, tell us: Do you think congestion charges should be introduced in Dublin city centre?
