IF WORKING FROM home is set to continue for you, no doubt you need the space and novelty to make it work. Laying down roots near the many coastal towns and villages of Co Cork could be a smart move, particularly if the city only calls every few weeks.
No doubt, it’s the hints of blue that catch your eye as soon as you look at Gryphon House. This five-bed family home spans 317 m² and sits near the village of Riverstick, just a ten minute drive from busy Kinsale.
Step inside and it becomes clear that a lot of thought has been put into the layout and orientation of this house.
A unique feature in this home is the gallery library that looks over the kitchen and dining room from the first floor. A lovely place to relax in and read, this landing if approached by a solid teak custom-design staircase and features a second double-height window that lets the light pour in.
Of the two sitting rooms, one if currently a bright, naturally-lit studio that looks over the back garden and has steps leading to it from the kitchen. The main lounge is also bright thanks to its triple aspect and French doors to the outside. It has a cosy wood burning stove and its own access if the next owner wanted to transform it into a self-contained living quarter.
Three double bedrooms sit off the landing on the first floor. Two have en suite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, which leaves the third bedroom to the family bathroom. Each bedroom has garden and countryside views – one even has double doors which could lead to a future balcony.
Gryphon House is surrounded by a well-maintained private garden along with plenty of parking that’s approached by a tarmac driveway. For extra storage space, there’s a large steel shed with power set up.
There’s plenty of space for the kids to kick a ball with lawns to the front and back along with patio areas that face east, west and south for summer entertaining.
Gryphon House is an ideal base for anyone who enjoys water sports, the countryside and staying active outdoors. This is nicely balanced out by not being too far away from urban areas. A twenty minute drive will have you in Cork’s city centre.
Gryphon House, Cullen, Riverstick, Kinsale, Co Cork is on the market for €850,000 through Savills.
