THE COMMUNITY OF Templederry in Co Tipperary is in shock today after the death of a three-year-old toddler following an incident in a swimming pool in Cork.
The little boy, named locally as Ronan Kennedy, was airlifted to hospital on Monday after the incident. He passed away early yesterday.
Local independent councillor Willie Kennedy said that people in the area are “absolutely in shock” at the tragic news.
The incident involved a swimming pool at a leisure centre in the Quality Hotel in Redbarn, Youghal, Co Cork.
“We are deeply saddened to learn that he (Ronan) has since passed away,” the hotel said in a statement.
The hotel management and staff are very shocked and upset by this event and their thoughts are with the little boy’s family.
