Woman in her 80s dies after becoming trapped under car

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A WOMAN HAS died after becoming trapped under a car in Limerick.

Gardaí are investigating the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the Old Dublin Road at Castletroy this morning at around 10.15am.

A female pedestrian in her late 80s was fatally injured when she was struck by a 4×4 vehicle in a car park. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Limerick University Hospital. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

The scene is currently preserved for an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
