Child and two men hospitalised after arson attack in Cork city

The incident happened at a home in the Clarkes Road area of Ballyphehane yesterday morning at around 6.35am.

A CHILD AND two men were hospitalised yesterday after a home in Cork city was the subject of an arson attack.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident of criminal damage at a home in the Clarkes Road area of Ballyphehane yesterday morning at around 6.35am.

Fire Services extinguished the fire, and a man in his 20s, a female child and a man in his 50s were brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted and investigations are ongoing.

Anyone who was in the Clarkes Road area between 6am and 7am yesterday morning, and who may have any information are asked to contact investigating Gardaí. Anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available.
