Driver dies after bus carrying 29 passengers goes into field

The passengers were uninjured.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses after a bus carrying 29 people left the road in Waterford.

The single-vehicle road traffic collision left the driver of a bus dead. It occurred on the N25 at Grange, near Ardmore in County Waterford at around 10.10pm last night.

The bus left the road and entered a field.

There was no other vehicle involved. The driver of the bus was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning. The passengers on the bus were uninjured.

Gardaí are asking witnesses to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058 48600, the Garda Confidential telephone line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
