NOW IN ITS 15th year, Dublin Dance Festival returns on May 1st with a jam-packed programme of events.
Running until May 19th, dozens of workshops and performances are scheduled to take place across the city for audiences of all ages.
From a DJ set to a street dance battle, here are five family-friendly events to get little feet moving.
We Are Monchichi: Through a mix of storytelling, hip-hop, classical and contemporary dance, this performance sees two dancers from different cultures and worlds search to find ways to understand each other.

Tiny Dancer: DJ Donal Dineen hits the decks to get little feet dancing to music from every era as they take over the ‘club’.

Princesses Can Be Pirates: An energetic and fun-filled performance, Princesses Can Be Pirates questions society’s gender preconceptions in a light-hearted way.

Street Dance Battle: An outdoor celebration of street dance and hip hop, the Top 8 Street Dance Battle will see street dancers from Ireland and abroad take to Meeting House Square for an energy-filled competition.

Children’s Workshop: Led by dancers from Company Wang Ramirez, children at this event (which is suitable for beginners) will learn hip hop and contemporary dance techniques, as well as choreography from W.A.M. We Are Monchichi.
