MANY OF US enjoy the challenge of buying a secondhand home that needs some work. Finding an opportunity to have no choice but to put our own stamp on a place is usually a great move, so we don’t get complacent with a house that’s already ready to walk into.
For anyone looking for a project in Tipperary, we’ve found four large homes in the county that fit the bill perfectly.
A roomy four-bed with a floor area of 214 m², 5 Tudor Drive has Tudor style external features. With large and bright rooms spread over two floors, the two reception rooms, a dining room, office and utility room along with a guest toilet make up the ground while four bedrooms sit upstairs. All doubles, the largest has an en suite bathroom while the others share the family shower room
A garage connects to the main house and the patio and garden faces south. There’s plenty of parking to the front and Clonmel is just a short drive away.
Located near the town of Cahir, this generously-sized three-bed has a floor area of 210 m² and is located on a half acre site, with great views of the countryside. One bedroom is on the ground floor with the two upstairs have an en suite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe each.
The home has a B2 BER so comfort is high but bills are low. The house is just 5 km from Cahir town and close to the M8. The gardens have been beautifully landscaped and are ideal for outdoor entertaining.
This four-bed has a floor area of 195 m² and sits on over half an acre. Whoever buys this home will have the opportunity to work with a blank canvas and her creative seeing as the house has never been lived in. The rooms are bright and spacious with loads of potential.
The grounds are ready for landscaping with an approaching gravel drive from the main road. The property is fronting onto the R503 a short distance from Rearcross village 2.5km and 11km from Newport. Limerick University and National Technological Park are only 25 minutes drive and easily accessible.
4 Sunnyside is a large six-bed with a floor area of 251 m². Located on a peaceful cul-de-sac and one of ten homes in the development, Ballypatrick village is just a stroll away. The village is a few minutes drive from Clonmel and about half an hour from Kilkenny and Waterford.
Inside, the rooms comprise a large living room that connects to the kitchen with patio doors leading to the back garden. Off the kitchen is a large, separate utility room and downstairs toilet. There are three generous bedrooms and a family bathroom on the ground floor and three bedrooms, two of which have large en suite bathrooms with walk-in wardrobes, on the first.
