Pregnant woman dies following two-car crash in Co Antrim

The collision occurred in Crumlin, Co Antrim yesterday afternoon.

A PREGNANT WOMAN has died following a two-car collision in Co Antrim yesterday afternoon.

The fatal crash occurred on the Moira Road in Crumlin, Co Antrim at around 2pm on Sunday, and involved a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Skoda Superb.

The victim has been named locally as Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco, who was aged in her 30s.

Police confirmed that Ms Singco was a backseat passenger in one of the vehicles, and died in hospital from her injuries.

They also said she was pregnant, and that her baby also died as a result of the collision.

A man in his 30s, who was travelling in the same car, remains critically injured, while a number of other people sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene.

PSNI Detective Inspector Stewart said police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash and have appealed for witnesses.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time,” Stewart added.
