7 tasty places to grab a festive take-away coffee while you Christmas shop

Don’t worry – there are other festive drinks in there, too.

HAVE YOU ALL your Christmas shopping done? Are you doing it right now?

If you’re in the middle of it, or planning to do some soon, you’ll no doubt want to just keep going until it’s all done. To do that, you’ll need a tasty caffeinated drink* to help you power through the day. Here are a list of the best festive coffees to grab while you finish your Christmas shopping. Enjoy

*Don’t worry – non-coffee drinkers are sorted too.

1. Legit Coffee Co, Dublin

Based in Meath Street, Dublin 8, Legit Coffee Co has just one seasonal coffee available – but what a coffee. It’s a cascara spiced latte with cinnamon. Cascara, in case you didn’t know, is the dried skins of coffee cherries, which gives a fruity flavour to the coffee.

2. Osta Café and Wine Bar, Sligo

Osta Café and Wine Bar, just off Stephen Street, Sligo, is perfectly located to pop in and grab a tasty coffee or hot chocolate – especially as their hot chocolate of the month is Christmas spice. They also do a wonderful mulled wine, but you might want to wait until the shopping is over before grabbing one of those…

3. Coffeewerk + Press, Galway

This coffee and design shop does a gorgeous seasonal winter-warming hot chocolate with black pepper, cinnamon, chilli, sea salt and hazelnut syrup. Delish.

4. Sweet Republic, Dublin and Galway

Renowned for their decadent concoctions these cafés in Bachelor’s Walk, Dublin and Eglington Street, Galway have gone above and beyond with their festive brews. Peppermint mocha or hot chocolate, salted caramel or hazelnut coffees, anyone?

5. Starbucks, various

If you’re looking for the ultimate Christmas coffees, you should probably head to Starbucks, who have all sorts of seasonal hot drinks on offer. From gingerbread lattes to this year’s new fudge hot chocolates, there’s plenty of Christmassy flavours for you to indulge in. And if you’re a Starbucks Rewards member you get to try the White Hot Chocolate before anyone else.

6. Three Fools Coffee, Cork

This coffeeshop in Cork has three different coffees on the go every day and sometimes there are cold brews and ice coffees on offer too. However, they do do a very festive hot chocolate full of marshmallows and served in their Christmas cup.

7. 3FE, Dublin

On the south side of the city, near the Grand Canal, 3FE are renowned for their commitment to coffee for the last seven years – and now you can appreciate their commitment to Christmas biscotti.

Whether you’re grabbing a coffee or doing the last of your Christmas shopping, use Visa contactless – the faster, easier way to pay for purchases up to €30. Spend less time at the till and more time having plenty of Christmassy craic. Find out more here.
