IF I HAD the money I’d buy…
An icon of the motoring world. A cool classic car with universal appeal. A big, brash muscle car with a growling V8 under the hood. I’d buy a Ford Mustang.
Why a Ford Mustang?
Few cars in history are more famous than the Ford Mustang. It is one of the coolest cars ever made and by owning one you instantly become cool too. It is the James Dean of cars. It is a such a sweet machine to drive to and will give you years of driving pleasure and great road trip memories.
What’s special about this particular one?
This particular 1966 Mustang is a first-generation hard top model. Yup, the original that kicked off Mustang madness. The car originally hails from California and is a left-hand drive. It has a racy red exterior and leather interior, and we all know that red cars are the fastest. It has twin exhausts and wonderful original features and is in very good condition.
It is powered by a glorious 200hp 5.0-litre V8 engine that roars into life and is mated to a three-speed automatic gearbox.
What does it look like in action?
Check out this review of a 1960s Ford Mustang and listen to that growling V8.
Who else drives one?
Some of the world’s most famous car enthusiasts own and drive classic Mustangs including Jay Leno (of course) Patrick Dempsey, Charlie Sheen and Bill Clinton.
It costs €21,000. What else could you get for the money?
Looking for another fun, sporty coupe? For the same money, you could have this 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Got your heart set on a classic? For the same money you could have this 1986 Jaguar XJS.
