Former nanny jailed after attempting to poison Ann Summers boss

Allison Cox had put toxic car windscreen cleaner into her employer’s lunch in an attempt to get another employee into trouble.

A WOMAN WHO ATTEMPTED TO poison her boss, the Ann Summers chief Jacqueline Gold, has been jailed for 12 months by Guildford Crown Court in England, according to the PA.

Allison Cox, 33, of East Grinstead, West Sussex, was hired to take care of Gold’s daughter.

Cox had put toxic car screenwash into two bowls of Gold’s soup in an attempt to get Gold’s chef into trouble, according to Reuters.

Judge Christopher Critchlow described Cox’s actions as “calculated and deceitful behaviour”.

The court heard that Cox had also added salt and sugar to Gold’s meals. Gold is not supposed to eat sugar for medical reasons.

Cox later admitted what she had done to police and said she hadn’t intended to poison Gold, merely ruin her meals. She has also apologised to Gold for her actions.

The judge said the former nanny had breached her employer’s trust after she was hired to take care of her only child. Gold’s second child, her daughter’s twin, had died at eight months of age, the Guardian reports.
