HILLARY CLINTON’S DOCTOR said today that the Democratic presidential candidate is in “excellent physical condition” and has completely recovered from the effects of a concussion she suffered in 2012.
The assessment, which is not legally required, but is a convention among US presidential candidates, pronounced her “fit to serve as president of the United States.”
She does not smoke and drinks alcohol occasionally. She does not use illicit drugs or tobacco products. She eats a diet rich in lean protein vegetables and fruits.
She exercises regularly including yoga, swimming, walking and weight training.
Clinton, who is 67, suffered a concussion in December 2012 after fainting — a result of a stomach virus and dehydration, according to the two-page letter from Dr. Lisa Bardack, at the Mount Kisco Medical Group near Clinton’s home in New York.
Bardack said testing the following year showed “complete resolution” of the concussion’s effects, including double vision, for which she wore glasses with specialized lenses.
During the course of her concussion treatment, Clinton was also found to have a blood clot and was given medication to dissolve it.
She remains on the medicine as a precaution, Bardack wrote.
The former Secretary of State has a family history of heart disease, but her cardiac evaluation was negative, as were her cancer screenings.
In summary, Mrs. Clinton is a healthy female with hypothyroidism and seasonal allergies, on long-term anticoagulation.
She participates in a healthy lifestyle and has had a full medical evaluation…She is in excellent physical condition and fit to serve as President of the United States.
