ONE OF LIFE’S simplest pleasures is sitting on a balcony with a cup of coffee while taking in a beautiful view.
This week we’re looking at four homes around the country with balconies from which you can do that every day – from a two-bed apartment by Malahide marina to a luxurious residence by the beach in West Cork.
A two-bed apartment, 377 Malahide Marina is located in the centre of Malahide village. As the name would suggest, it enjoys beautiful views of the marina, while double doors open from the living area to a balcony to allow residents to soak up the sea air whenever they please.
A new corner kitchen has been fitted in the open-plan living area, complete with sleek cabinets and stylish countertops. There are two double bedrooms in the apartment, with an en suite bathroom in one. Car parking is provided from all residents, although it might not be needed with Malahide Dart station less than a 10-minute walk away.
Located on an elevated site, this five-bed property boasts views of Lough Foyle and Moville Pier. It features a light-filled interior with large living areas, including a sitting room, sun room and family room. There’s also a spacious kitchen and a dining alcove.
The master bedroom benefits from a private balcony which overlooks the lake, while there’s another smaller balcony off the landing. The property is surrounded by mature trees and hedging to the rear and includes an attached garage to the side.
Built in 2007, Janest is a five-bedroom property on 1.5 acres. It’s positioned to enjoy panoramic views of Dunmanus Bay, with the nearest beach just a five-minute walk away. The kitchen features a centre island and double doors to a large patio, while a cosy seating area leads to a spacious sunroom with countryside views.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and three on the first floor, including the master bedroom with its own bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and balcony. There are timber floors and tiles throughout the property, while solar panels provide energy-efficient electricity and hot water.
Positioned right in the heart of Galway city, Apartment 3 Tobar na mBan is a luxury two-bed property. It boasts uninterrupted views of Lough Atalia from a large balcony by the living area, while Eyre Square is a quick five-minute walk away.
The interior is bright, spacious and modern, with two king size bedrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, a jacuzzi bath and a slick, contemporary kitchen. The apartment comes with two underground parking spaces, plus a separate storage area/shed.
