WE MIGHT NOT be able to have friends and family over for post-Covid dinner parties just yet, but we can certainly start to think about it. And if you have a big family at home with you, then a large dining space is probably on your must-have list already.
This week we’re looking at four properties around the country with separate (and spacious) dining areas – from a three-bed in Dublin 12 to a refurbished cottage in Longford.
Curracloe, Co Wexford – €385,000
With an attractive brick and render facade and located on a site of 0.91 acres, this four-bed property makes a great first impression. The house is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, including a large patio area for dining al fresco.
The accommodation, which spans 2,152 sq ft, may benefit from some modernisation, but boasts large living areas, a dining room with a feature window and spacious bedrooms. Curracloe village is a five-minute drive away, while the beach can be reached in 10 minutes.
Lisduff, Co Longford – €187,500
Completely refurbished and extended in 2017, The Old Cottage comes to the market in turn-key condition. An extension was added to include a master bedroom and en suite bathroom, while new windows and a new front door were also installed.
Measuring 916 sq ft, the interior is stylish and modern, yet also enjoys a countryside feel. It comprises an attractive kitchen with a Belfast sink, a dining room with a solid fuel stove, a cosy sitting room, two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a family bathroom. Outside, there’s a large parking area and a separate lawn, as well as a patio to the front.
Ballycosney, Co Offaly – €320,000
Located on a gated site of 0.52 acres, this four-bed bungalow has plenty to offer. It features a spacious interior of 1,905 sq ft, including a large kitchen, a living room with a wood stove insert and a conservatory-style dining room which could comfortably seat eight.
A unique feature here: a ‘secret’ playroom/lounge is accessed via a doorway disguised as built-in kitchen units. Outside, there are landscaped lawns to the front and rear, as well as a large patio area and detached garage.
Perrystown, Dublin 12 – €450,000
A three-bed mid-terrace property, 98 Whitehall Road is an ideal family home. It’s within close proximity to numerous primary schools, secondary schools and sports clubs, as well as parks, green areas and public transport links.
The interior is well laid-out, with an open-plan living room and dining room on the ground floor, plus a separate kitchen. There are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom on the first floor, and the family bathroom. To the rear, the garden is 70 ft in length, with a mix of grass and paving.
