Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Brenda McMenamin’s (@justmyhomeinireland) bedroom for her seven-year-old son was our inspiration.
“The room has been painted like this for four years and I added the mountains on the right wall two years ago to add interest,” says Brenda. “The pop of yellow works well with the blue to break it up and add another element to the space.”
The room features all the things my son likes, from his rainbows to the beautiful star decals on the ceiling. He loves his room.
Dunnes Stores, MADE and Habitat were Brenda’s main ports of call when decorating this room. Below are six high-street products that’ll help you get Brenda’s look in your own home…
1. Rainbow cushion, €10.95, Zara
Add a sense of fun to your little one’s bedroom with unique cushions.
2. Galaxy print duvet cover set, €19, Harry Corry
This galaxy print duvet perfectly matches the world-inspired theme that Brenda went with.
3. World map wall decal, €22.94, Etsy
Learn where different countries are and add colour to a blank wall with this world map wall decal.
4. Pair of yellow lamps, €24.40, Argos
While there are several different prints and colours throughout the room, choosing block colours for things like the table lamp, ceiling light and bedside table ties everything together.
5. ‘Hello’ print, €21, Fy
Fun prints add another point of interest to the room.
6. Dinosaur wooden letters, €1.90 each, JoJo Maman Bebe
Get creative with wooden letters for your child’s wall or door, or use them to display their name like Brenda has done.
