A SMALL PROTEST involving two men banging pots and pans with wooden spoons has been taking place outside Leinster House today.
The noise from outside the gates at the Kildare Street entrance can be heard inside the Oireachtas complex.
Some have noted it is similar – although much, much smaller in scale – to the so-called ‘Kitchenware Revolution’ in Iceland a few years ago.

Organiser Ian Croft said he was calling on people to get involved in the ‘Irish Pot Challenge’ and gather outside Leinster House and council buildings to bang their pots and pans.
Croft, who unsuccessfully ran as an independent in the local elections in Dublin last May, said he did not want to detract from the Right 2 Water campaign which he said he supported.
He also called on people to post videos of themselves ripping up their Irish Water application forms and nominating three other people to do so in a manner similar the recent Ice Bucket Challenge craze.
