Multi vehicle crash with stray cattle caused M3 motorway to close

A 12 kilometre tailback is being reported.

Updated 10.35am.

UP TO FIVE cars were involved in a crash with stray cattle on the M3 in Meath this morning.

It’s understood that nobody was seriously injured in the incident.

The M3 was closed in both directions following the crash after Junction 6, Dunshaughlin.

However, the motorway is now open again as emergency services have dealt with the crash and loose cattle.

The AA says it’s extremely slow all along the Old Dublin Road route where southbound traffic was diverted and there is a 12km tailback.
