Man in his 60s dies and two people injured after two-car crash in Co Wicklow

Gardaí are looking for witnesses of the Friday evening collision.

A MAN IN his 60s has died following a collision in Co Wicklow.

There were two cars involved in the crash, which happened on the R725, Rath East, Shillelagh, at around 6.50pm yesterday evening.

One of the drivers, a man in his 60s, died at the scene. His body has since been taken to the Naas Mortuary for a post mortem.

A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital Carlow Kilkenny, where she is being treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the other car, a man, was seriously injured. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R725 near Rath East between 6pm and 6.50pm on Friday are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
