Alan Walsh (44) died after the e-scooter he was riding was involved in the incident at the junction of Manor Hill and Hennessy’s Road at around 11am yesterday morning.

He worked at O’Sullivan’s bar and restaurant in the city centre, and was credited as a “treasured” work colleague who “lit up the day”, according to one tribute by the business online.
“To all of Alan’s family, we are completely heartbroken to hear the news of Alan’s passing,” read a condolence on his death notice.
He was not only a much treasured work colleague of ours but also a really good friend to everyone her. Nothing was too much for Alan and he always lit up the day with a smile on his face. We will all miss him so much.
The driver of the car, a man in his 80s, was also taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact gardaí, particularly those with dash-cam footage or who were travelling in the area between 10.45am and 11.15am.
