Man (60s) dies in two-car collision in Dundalk

A woman in her 20s, who was travelling in another car, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A MAN HAS died in a road traffic collision in Dundalk.

The crash, which involved two cars, happened at around 10:15pm.

The driver of one vehicle, a male aged in his late 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to Louth County Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

A woman in her 20s, who was travelling in the second car, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The scene is preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and traffic diversions are currently in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time are also asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
