Man (80s) dies after single-vehicle crash in Kildare

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A MAN IN his 80s has died following a fatal single vehicle road traffic incident that occurred on the Curragh Road, Kildare town this afternoon at around 1.35pm.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Coroner was notified and the body of the man has been removed to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The scene was subject to technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm today are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
