Man (30s) arrested after €730,000 worth of cannabis seized in Dublin

The operation involved the Revenue Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

A MAN IN his 30s has been arrested after cannabis with an estimated value of €730,000 was seized in Dublin.

The intelligence-led operation involved both the Revenue Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

As part of the operation, a van was stopped in Tallaght and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €700,000 was seized by Revenue. 

A further 1.5kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated market value of €30,000, was seized by gardaí in follow-up searches.

The man was arrested by gardaí. He is currently detained in a garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing.
